Chemiproject is a scientific initiative led by Rubén Cantón Vitoria, a Spanish chemistry professor at Nagoya University, Japan.
But… who else is behind this project? The story of Chemiproject began with Enabling Excellence, a European program aimed at advancing research in nanomaterials. This project involved several institutions from Spain, France, the United Kingdom, and Greece, selecting a group of students to receive the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship, leading to a Ph.D.
Rubén was one of the selected researchers and carried out his work at the NHRF-TPCI in Athens, Greece. As part of the program, participants were required to create an initiative that would promote science outside of the academic field. That’s how the idea of Chemiproject was born, an innovative project designed to disseminate science through a card game.
What began as a simple idea turned into something much bigger. Today, Chemiproject has evolved into various versions and formats, thanks to the support of numerous institutions and people who dedicated their time and effort to making it a reality.

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the development of Chemiproject: family, friends, and collaborators who have helped us with ideas, advice, and improvements in every detail of the game. Without them, this project would not be what it is today.
Realistically speaking, by 2025, we still haven’t reached significant growth, but we continue to move forward with determination. Currently, the game is available in Spanish, English, and Catalan, and our next challenge is to translate it into Japanese.
