A Game to Learn and Have Fun

ChemiProject is a card game designed to make sure you have a blast with your friends while learning organic chemistry concepts. Our goal is to help you enjoy the game and lose any fear of this branch of chemistry, which, although it may seem complex, can captivate anyone who truly gets to know it.

Our mission is to transform fun into motivation because we know that the best way to learn is by playing. And who knows? Maybe ChemiProject is the push that some need to become the scientists of tomorrow.

Different Ways to Play

There are multiple ways to play ChemiProject, from a specialized mode for the most passionate players to a version that can entertain children under 10 years old. (Kids don’t lie! They had a blast, and you can check it out on YouTube!)

But all versions have one thing in common: connecting cards through a series of colors. These colors represent functional groups, which are taught at the end of high school or the beginning of university. Just like in dominoes, the colors on the cards can connect with others, simulating what in organic chemistry we call addition reactions.

Learning Without Realizing It

The kids’ version focuses on teaching functional groups, while the adult version shows you how to perform complex organic reactions in a simple way.

As a PhD in organic chemistry and the creator of ChemiProject, it’s amazing to see how my friends, with far more board game experience than me, can crush me without knowing a thing about chemistry. And that’s because the game teaches you, in a simple way, everything you need to know in just a few minutes. Plus, with the built-in assistance of the game, it’s easy to develop strategies to win.

Chemistry is Also About Emotions

If there’s one thing that motivates people to learn, it’s emotions. And there’s no greater satisfaction than completely wrecking a friend’s seemingly perfect strategy. That’s the essence of ChemiProject. That’s why we included BreakRules cards, allowing you to interact with your opponents in ways that, in real life, might be… questionable.

Real Science, Real Strategies

The cool thing is that every reaction in ChemiProject 1.1 can be carried out in real life. Sure, the purification of each step might take months, with ridiculously low yields—especially when molecules get large—but who cares? The reactions are scientifically accurate.

The ChemiProject 1.1 edition is the most complete one to date (2025). It’s a fusion of versions A and B, totaling 554 cards. Designed for the most hardcore mode, it’s all about learning, scheming, and breaking strategies. It’s playable with 2-8 players, but simpler versions exist for children, making it perfect for an entire classroom.
